Junior linebacker Jarrod Makovicka was honored today by both the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as their defensive player of the week.  Makovicka was instrumental in the Chargers' 25-24 last second victory over Hastings, Saturday.  He finished the game with 13 total tackles, including six solos.  He also registered a team-high three tackles for loss and returned a fumble 29 yards.  It was his third-straight 10-plus tackle performance.  The national players of the week are chosen out of a pool of conference players of the week performancers among 10 conferences and independents.
